Work Experience

Oracle, Seattle, US

Software Engineer, Oracle Cloud Object Storage Team
July 2022- May 2025
• Worked in Oracle Cloud Object Storage Web Server backend team, focusing on service availability, throttling, release-qualification, and internal tools related projects.

Intel, Shanghai, China

Software Engineer Intern, AXG/MLP/ML Solution Platform Team
April 2021-Aug 2021

Analytics Zoo Open-Source Big Data AI platform

• Supported multi-model front-end HTTP serving to serve different models with single front-end Scala service
• Introduced the support of local inference model serving that cloud be up to 9 times faster than cluster serving
• Implemented front-end gRPC serving with java-grpc library to provide users a new option and improve speeds for roughly 20% comparing with HTTP serving

Bytedance, Beijing, China

Software Engineer Intern, Global Payments Team
June 2020-Nov 2020

Risk Control System Project

• Delivered an integrated risk control system to block payments with risk and to improve the user payment experiences
• Participated in the design of core DB models with scalability and reusability. Designed and developed an RPC service to implement the CRUD operations of the core DB
• Implemented the front-end page with VueJS and the corresponding Ginex backend as a management platform of risk control rules for operation teams to configure the rules, verify the rules and view the statistics intuitively
• Introduced the concept of external factors that can integrate existed external risk control evaluation systems such as CyberSource as input to our system

Anti-Money Laundering Project

• Built an Anti-money Laundering (AML) System to help compliance teams gather the corresponding suspicious history transactions, ultimately identifying potential risk on money laundering
• Designed Cron Jobs to fetch sensitive trade data from HDFS written by an offline analysis engine and store them with AML backend service
• Designed and implemented the AML backend service, including database and APIs

Research & Teaching

Multimodal Monitoring of Driver’s Alertness, University of Michigan

A research project to explore the potential of multimodal modeling for driving distraction detection and recognition Dec 2019-April 2020
• Simulating the driving process and collected data of driving performance and facial conditions under different distractors.
• Using Python with Open Face library to analyze the data of drivers’ facial reaction with different distractors and with Seaborn library to visualize the statistical data.

Generative heat sink design optimization, General Motors, Michigan, United States

A Multidisciplinary Design Project to research on algorithms to automatically generate and optimize heat sink designs
Jan 2020-June 2020
• Delivered an end-to-end process to synthesize and optimize dendritic (tree-like) heat sink designs automatically in a team of 7 students, ultimately reduced the design time and improved the energy efficiency of electronics for vehicles
• Developed an algorithm based on space colonization with Python to generate dendritic heat sink designs with less than 1% of parameters needed comparing with traditional way of 3D model representation
• Used PyAnsys to implement an automated process for thermal analysis of the generated heat sink CAD designs
• Applied differential evolution to iterate the heat sink designs based on their thermal performances
