Trip to Tibet
- 1 minutes read - 141 wordsDuring the summer break in 2019, I decided to travel to Tibet. With 48 hours' train from Shanghai to Tibet, across half of China of the distance more than 4000 km. Known as “roof of the world”, Tibet is one of the city with the highest altitude in China. I visited several famous temples and enjoy tons of delicious food in Tibet.
After adjusted to the high altitude, I joined a hiking team to visit Ngari Prefecture. During the journey, I visited the Everest base camps, where the altitude is more than 5000 meters. We then went to Mount Kailash. Every day, tons of local people went there to hike around the mountain for religious reasons (called “转山” in Chinese). We, as tourists, also followed their paths and spent two days hike around the mountain. The journey was tough but rewarding.
